Oakland Community College (OCC) is partnering with the Michigan Community College Association (MCCA) on the “You’ve Got This” social media contest with a grand prize of $3,000 for tuition.
The goal of the campaign and contest is to highlight the importance of community colleges in the lives of students, the state of Michigan and beyond. OCC students, future students and alumni are asked to submit photos that show their success to be eligible for the $3,000 scholarship.
To qualify, students must follow OCC and the MCCA on Instagram or Twitter, upload their photo onto one of the platforms and hashtag it with #MCCAYGT and #OCCollege. They are encouraged to include their personal inspiration, how they’ve given back to their community, the tools OCC has given them and how their career is within their grasp in the description or on the image.
This contest is open to current Michigan community college students, future students and alumni. Contestants can submit their entries from Saturday, September 13, until 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, September 21. All entries must include the #OCCollege hashtag and mention OCC in the description. The $3,000 scholarship may be used either during the winter 2015, fall 2015, or spring 2016 semesters to cover the cost of tuition at OCC.
The “You’ve Got This” contest coincides with the MCCA’s Community College Week, occurring statewide at all Michigan community colleges September 13-21.
Entries also will be featured on OCC and MCCA social media sites.
