Oakland Community College (OCC) is hosting a number of free wellness sessions, open to the community. Registration is not required.
Eliminating Stress Workshop – Speaker Tanya Martin, Psy.D., LLP introduces effective tools and techniques for eliminating personal stressors and leaves participants feeling “stress-free.” This workshop includes role-play and audience participation in an effort to clearly illustrate effective stress reducers. Repeating sessions are offered from 12:15–1:15 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 26 at OCC’s Southfield campus, Student Center and Tuesday, Feb. 2 at OCC’s Royal Oak campus.
Family Caregiving Journey: You are Not Alone – Speaker Pamela Miller Malone shares her personal journey and provides insight to making very difficult decisions and accessing the many resources available to unpaid family caregivers. Attendees currently caring for an aging or ailing loved one will realize, “they are not alone.” Thursday, Jan. 28, 12:00 – 1:30 p.m., OCC Southfield campus, Student Center.
Spirituality Workshop for the Non-Religious – Speaker Lisa Haysmer, LMSW will engage the audience in discussions exploring the possibility of finding a deeper spiritual connection within their current religion, or finding a spiritual connection completely separate from “traditional religion.” Repeating sessions are offered from 12:15 – 1:15 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 27 at OCC’s Southfield campus, Student Center and Wednesday, Feb. 3 at OCC’s Royal Oak campus Alcove.
Beat the Winter Blues – Join us for a free workshop on “Building Healthy Relationships” and sign up for a free massage to invigorate body and mind from OCC Massage Therapy Program. Thursday, Feb. 11, 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. at OCC’s Auburn Hills campus, Student Center.
